Holland Lloyd helped a Shropshire household gain planning permission for a replacement dwelling in the open countryside. Working alongside Ashley Thomas Architecture, we were able to review the permitted development allowances, undertake pre-application advice with the local planning authority, and submit an appropriate and high-quality dwellinghouse for approval
The site comprised a low-quality single-storey dwellinghouse that had been extended without a cohesive style or materiality. The development brief was to provide a modern property that maximised the footprint and created a one-off dwelling appropriate for the open landscape.
The success of the project enabled a substantial dwelling, with garaging, while continuing to retain outbuildings for uses incidental to the primary use.
