Holland Lloyd is delighted to have helped Hessleby Homes, a developer with a keen eye on detail and traditional design, achieve planning permission to convert and alter a Grade II listed building and deliver an additional two new build dwellings in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire.
Set within the heart of the conservation area it was necessary for the proposal keep a close eye on the heritage asset, wider assets, and the impact on the conservation area. Early engagement with the local planning authority ensured the team understood the matters of detail and could respond positively with a proposal appropriate for the site.
The project site included a change in levels and there was a need to ensure a viable scheme. Overcoming these challenges we worked closely with local property agents to ensure a viable proposal was proposed, and the architects to ensure deliverability could be achieved.
The architecture was in keeping with the local area and the Conservation Officer commented that the proposal will have a positive impact on the listed building.
Holland Lloyd led the planning process, with architecture led by BHB. Our involvement included leading pre-application, the project team, and determination period. Objections were received from local residents and the Parish Council, with Holland Lloyd representing the client at the Planning Committee.
Ben Rayner, Director at Holland Lloyd, said: “Holland Lloyd is delighted to have assisted Hessleby Homes on another scheme within Staffordshire. Our work with the developer and understanding of their needs helped to ensure a smooth planning process and positive committee decision. We are looking forward to seeing the scheme developed.”
